Happy Music Monday and a very Happy New Year!
This is the first recording of the first (and only) song that we completely co-wrote together - chords, melody, lyrics - start to finish. We quickly realized that this is no easy task, so the rest of our songs are written by one person, presented to the other, and then after some collaboration becomes a “Lavenders song”. Yes. That’s a thing ;) So…without further ado, here is the original recording (Betsy only) of Lavender Blue Dilly and the EP version (Betsy and Alicia) of Lavender Blue.

This is our first ever mix tape, featuring bands from Southern California and beyond. I love this, and although some of these songs started out unreleased and slowly drifted into being released, there are still a few tracks that are never before heard so I’d like to think this is super special. Bandcamp gave me hell when I tried to upload this the many times I did, and so here we are, a few months later with this lovely mix tape and a strong hate for bandcamp. With tunes ranging from the poetic simplicity of The Choo Choo Trains from England, to the lo-fi gems Southern California is putting out, this tape creates a unique and quite diverse atmosphere. Time Machine in Progress!
This is a snapshot of the Time Machine so far… Any Takers? Tomorrow more features will be added (battery operated time travel lights!!) and I’m still on the lookout for a discounted flux capacitor.
